Add POST request method to URL Monitors
We love URL Monitors! It would be great if they could eventually support POST-type requests in the future.

We’ll leave this to API checks for the foreseeable future

Hi Victor,
In addition to what @Susanne Tünker mentioned: I’d love to understand the specific use case behind it.
To my understanding if you want to post from a webpage, that’s likely a form, and I suppose the best way to verify that would be a Browser check, and if that’s about verifying a backend is picking up data submissions on a POST, then an API check would work there.
I might be missing something though, so would love to understand the need more in depth.
Thank you!

You’re right, an API check is fine for what we’re trying to do. It can still run at the 10s frequency and covers POST.
We organize our uptime/url monitors in one folder (with a higher frequency), and the tests with additional logic/assertions in other folders (with lower frequency). But we can put a few API tests masquerading as URL monitors to check uptime for POST-only endpoints.

Hi Victor, thanks so much for sharing your feedback! I’ll pass this on to the team and keep you posted on our plans here. In the meantime, I hope API checks (which support POST and other request methods) can serve as an alternative.
