Maintenance Window

Time zone problem :

When we schedule a maintenance shift, it is entered in our local time zone, then it can be viewed in the same time zone, but its execution seems to run in UTC value, example: On March 19th, I scheduled maintenance on an application group from 11:50 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. in my time zone, so, but this maintenance was effective in Checkly at 23:50 UTC, which is 0:50 on my time zone

We have a similar need for maintenance shift.
We would like to be able to use local timezone in order to setup maintenance rather than plain UTC.
Daylight saving is a mess to organise upon UTC, it would be seamless if you provide an option to use local timezone (like CET)

Similar problem over here - we managed everything via TF. But unfortunately, we still have changes between summer and winter time twice a year. This seems hard to change from a European perspective.

    So, either we

    1. Change all regular windows twice a year - which is error-prone and does not make fun

    2. have separate windows per time (We change between UTC+1 and UTC+2) - which is not nice because Checkly does not support having a maintenance period for this selection

    3. need a way to schedule maintenance in our own RZ which then gets translated by Checkly to UTC depending on summer/wintertime.

Either way, the currently way is not so nice.

(and yes, I know that in 2024 one should not have regular downtimes anymore, but unfortunately as well, this seems as hard to change as eliminating time change from a regulation perspective).

I think it's a bug or an oversight on the part of your teams, we manage our probes in a very specific time environment UTC +1 or +2 depending on the seasons in Europe, and we would have to manage a second time environment separate to plan our maintenance, this looks like a bug to me, we can debate it, but the situation is clear on my side, this is not a normal situation, I have to ask my team to manage a time zone for firing the probes and a different time zone to implement the maintenance windows, frankly they won't understand !!!

Hi Michel, thanks for responding. My coworker @Rikard Nilsson will look at this.

    Hi Michael,

are you reporting this as a bug or are you suggesting a change or extra feature? If you consider this a bug, please just contact support and we will investigate. Right now it's a bit hard to respond to this.

Hello Tim, for me, it's a bug, an inconsistency, the service you offer in this specific case is not suitable, we cannot ask a client to manage 2 time zones for the same probe!
