Option to sync between UI and CLI
If a change is made in the UI when CLI is source of truth, have to have to run npx checkly destroy --preserve-resources and reimport everything.
Can you make a way to sync either way - from UI to CLI or CLI to UI?

Ability to generate a CLI code representation of all resources in an account
Currently, we can see a Checkly CLI code representation of resources (checks, monitors, alert channels, etc) by running
npx checkly import. However, this only shows the code for resources managed via the UI (docs). It would be nice to have a similar command, but it generates the code for everything in an account and not just UI-managed resources.

Would love to have this or another method for detecting differences between what is in checkly and what is in code. Example of other IaC tools that support this include bicep with “whatif” and “snapshot” functionality.

Hi,
We’ve started making a set of improvements to go in this direction. The first change that landed in the CLI is an option to preserve resources when running deploy to avoid accidentally delete previously managed resources (similar to destroy preserve resources).
Next, we’ll be considering a command allowing to pull the state of a resource from the UI to offer resyncing it/them locally.
What would you imagine working best for you naming-wise? We’re thinking of staying away from using import which is a 3 step process with a plan, and rather offer more of a one-off command like
pullbut wonder if people might not just be drawn to callimportagain.Another direction we’re looking into is to support a better
diffwhich would effectively allow for asynccommand to allow selectively deploying or importing depending on what you want to do.Any preferences or something that’d feel more natural to you?
Thank you!
